Lloyd’s cousin Sam’s birthday was Saturday, but being forgetful people, we missed it. Anyway, Sam is learning the ancient art of U Ku Le Le, so I give to him: The Chords!
First: Angry Bird, also known as ‘G’
Next, Brood of Frightened Vipers, also know as ‘D’
Finally, Balancing Shrew, also known as ‘C’
Now we sing:
(G) Happy Birthday to (D)you, Happy Birthday to (G) you.
(G) Happy Birthday, Dear (C) Sam,
Happy (G) Birthday, (D) to (G) you!
Or, if you wish:
(Angry Bird) Happy Birthday to (Brood of Frightened Vipers) you, Happy Birthday to (Angry Bird) you.
Happy Birthday, Dear (Balancing Shrew) Sam,
Happy (Angry Bird) Birthday (Brood of Frightened Vipers) to (Angry Bird) you!
Brad says
HAHAHA!
Brilliant!
Beth says
I’ve been trying all day to think of a cool comment to leave…but Brad’s really says it all…he wins…but just today.
Lauren says
Aww..you guys.
Seriously, did he tell you that I called and was bummed because no one else was commenting? ‘Cause I’ll take a pity comment -- I’ll take it!
Mark says
Only you….
(sound of oriental gong)
“Lauren…Ukulele master.”
Lauren says
You are wise, young grasshopper. Wax on, Wax off.
Cousin Sam says
Lauren, your Uk rendition of “Happy Birthday” brought tears to my eyes; how could you so openly vialate copyright like that -- you risked expensive fines and years in prison without prototyping materials for me, for me. Oh, here I go again… Try to wrap your gourd around this a larger instrument say a mandolin tuned to GCEA with pairs of metal strings. Yeah, I have been experimenting. You should here me play the Beatles and the country bumpkin stuff we do at HP. Actually it’sn’t (I just made that it’sn’t thing up)that good but I play the uke and the ukolin loud. Thanks again for the BDay refresher lesson in chording.
Lauren says
I’m so proud of you -- prototyping at such a young age! If I send you supplies, will you build me one? Then we’d look oh-so-cool at Heit’s Point!
(Thanks for commenting, by the way. You made my day!)
