After grumbling about getting things ready for Valentine’s Day, Annette asked me, “Is there a holiday you don’t hate?” The answer is….I don’t know. I like St. Patrick’s Day because I stamp tiny footprints all over school and fib to the children. “Yeah, must have been that leprechaun.”
Back to Valentine’s Day. It’s not that I hate the actual day, but children become different creatures around the holidays. This day is the closest we come to having a ‘party’, so it will be a long day. On tap: making bead necklaces, making heart crowns, ‘Jesus Loves Me’ tattoos, a ladybug craft, passing out Valentines, and snack. The passing out the Valentines is the big deal of the day, and it takes most of the morning for 24 preschoolers to accomplish that task, then we reward them by loading up on cupcakes!! Woo-hooo!!
This is the stuff that I’m taking from home. What have I forgotten?
I know! I forgot to wish Samith a Happy Birthday!!!Â
Brad says
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Don’t you have anything prepared about how St. Valentine was torn apart by wolves in the coliseum?
Annette says
Do you know EVERYTHING about ANYTHING, or do you just make this stuff up?
Annette says
You forgot the 7-up and sherbet! Rum and Coke! And, actually, I do believe I posed the question to you in the postive… “are there any holidays you like?!” Oh yeah, did I mention you forgot the rum and coke?
Peggy says
24 … is that just one class? Or 2 classes of 12?
I think you need the rum & coke packed in your bag every day!
Annette says
24? No, that’s Jack Bauer on Fox, Monday nights!
Or is it Monday nights with that “Fox,” Jack Bauer?
Peggy says
HA!
Michele (Brad's friend) says
Annette -- do you watch 24? We LOVE that show. This week was a 2-hour deal. Why does Jack Bauer whisper everything he says? Is he trying to be sexy?
Annette says
That’s a rhetorical question, right?
