(For the sake of my parents who have dial-up, I’m just providing the link.)

Just to show the versatility of ukes, I will henceforth occasionally showcase their talents.  Here’s a little clip from the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain doing ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ by Nirvana.  While nowhere near my favorite song, it’s hilarious to see the kids in the background watch these crazy adults with first incredulity and then head-banging respect!   (It’s also the first time I’ve ever heard the words so clearly.)

Ha! This is cool! Are you going to get your uke group to do this? Maybe you could do crazy New Year’s gigs in the UK! I would definitely come see that!

I LOVE this!! And even harold thought it was cool! It made me all nostalgic inside. I need to get my Uke out and play again…it’s been too long…

Me three, me three … I liked it too! I think the older dudes acting younger is what was appealing to me … mid-life crisis, I hope not!

That was hilariously fun! Kayla, our 1 1/2 year old loved it too. She danced for the whole song and then clapped at the end. I especially liked the long-haired guy rocking out while playing his Uke. Very funny.

When you’re living on the side of a mountain, and have dial-up, then it takes an hour (I’m not kidding!) to download a five minute ukelele song, and when you finally see it, the sound doesn’t match the picture at all! Oh well, I tried!

I’m sorry! Don’t bother -- it’s not that great of a song anyway. The funny part is that it’s being played on ukuleles. 🙂
