For some weird reason, Baltimore Michele only likes licorice. (You’ll have to read her comment here.) I’m sure she was dropped on her head as a child, and we all can, and should, pray for her recovery. In the meantime, I happened to visit ‘Licorice International’ in Lincoln, which carries many different brands of licorice from all over the world. No kidding. It’s a ‘store’ filled with ‘shelves’ that hold ‘boxes’ of ‘licorice’. What is this place – candy purgatory? Give me the Spree Store – now that has a future!

Now THAT’S what I’m talkin’ about.
I know you’re all tired of my love of IKEA, but bear with me. We’ve established that no one in the world loves IKEA as much as I do, and that nobody could possibly want to spend as much time there (2-3 solid days) as me. Well, people, I’m wrong. I need to book a flight to Oslo so I can spend the night at IKEA!!!! Check out this link: http://www.boingboing.net/2007/07/28/ikea_opens_free_host.html
Rainy day.
It’s actually raining here – a good, steady rain. We’ve been dry for weeks now, so it’s nice to not get teased by the little sprinkles of the past few days.Â
Lloyd’s parents are visiting, and in the dash to straighten up the house, the camera dock has been moved and I can’t find it. I’ve got some funny pictures from yesterday to post, but you may have to wait a bit.
What did you do with your Saturday? What’s the weather like where you are?
No more Found…
Well, it turns out that I don’t like the found category going off into a seperate sidebar. So I’m going to throw all of that stuff back into the normal mix and get rid of it. It should appear below this post (if I’m lucky), so you might scroll down and see a few shorter posts that you haven’t seen before (and 2 longer ones).
Oh the gadgets!
http://www.betterlivingthroughdesign.com Really, really smart people making super-cool things I wish I could play with.
Awesome Jewelry!
And now a word from our future sponsor: www.twodogpond.com
We have a friend who Lloyd used to work with when he was at Oetting’s Detasseling, Rachel Pozehl. She makes wicked cool jewelry – and it’s a very cool idea. She can take any image – a photo, a map, a piece of a postcard, letter, book, whatever – shrink it if need be, then put it in a necklace/ornament/whatever. She sandwiches the art between two pieces of glass and solders it together. Plus, since there are two sides, she can put something else on the other side! It’s very clever stuff, as she is a clever lady.
Annette has one of her boys when they were little and the word ‘Mine’ on the back. Kate gave one to her daughter who was going to Chicago for college that had a piece of a Nebraska map with Seward on it and the word ‘Home’ on the back. We also gave a few as Christmas Presents.
