I can’t take credit for this, because I found the idea on the internet, but did you know that most canning jars (or similar-sized jars) will fit your blender? Tonight I tried to make a freezee-coffee drink (which turned out wrong….but was still delicious), and used a little jar that held….. I don’t remember. I think it will fit the jars that my spaghetti sauce comes in, too. This will satisfy my craving for that blender thing on t.v. – the one where it has the ‘comfort rings so you can drink right from the jar!’. It’s such a stupid commercial, but I get sucked into watching it every time.
This is our old blender that I bough eleven years ago at a thrift store for seven dollars. I love it, even though it’s ugly. We actually received a nice new blender for Christmas last year, but I can’t bring myself to use it yet. It would seem like such a betrayal to this little guy.

that second picture looks like one of those fighting robot things. Watch out!!

Are you fast enough to flip your mason jar upside down and screw it on the base without losing any liquid? Can you post of video of you doing that? I’d love to see it!
Brad says
“…that blender thing on TV…” Heh. I know you know what it is. Your link belies your ignorance.
And thank you for the opportunity to use “belies” in a sentence for the first time in my whole life. Today is an historic day.

To be fair, I had to search for the blender to make the link. All I could remember was ‘comfort rings’ and ‘bullet’.
Brad says
Hehe… you keep saying “comfort rings”. It makes me think of those hemorrhoid seat cusions.

And thank YOU for using the proper article before the word historic.
Grammar is the only part of English classes that I ever loved.

I don’t remember ever learning to use “an” in front of historic. Hm. I guess Ms. Whatshername missed that part.

I think harvest gold is fashionable for kitchen accessories this year!

I have a friend who has the magic bullet. We experimented with it over the summer. It was fun! I loved it!! I was gonna get one for myself, until I saw how much it cost. Can’t wait to try this!!!

So, in Colombia, they use $7 blenders to make all of their beverages, and all out of fresh fruit. There are very few fruits that don’t go in the blender. So, everbody, grab your frozen berries, your mangos, your pomegranites, chuck ’em in the mason jar, and make yourself a healthy snack! Throw in some banana… we all need our potassium!
