Tonight I’m working on making some little DVDs for my preschoolers, and it takes about eleven minutes to burn each one to a disk. I’m trying to use my time wisely – doing a few dishes, putting away papers, and… coloring my hair.
I’m using henna powder. Years and years ago I used to put henna on my hair. I’d buy it at this crazy Egyptian store in Lincoln for five bucks. The boxes were hilarious, and I regret not saving one. It had your standard bad-English-translations, but I can’t remember any of them. Today I bought some at the treehugger store. They sold it by weight, so I just got a couple of scoopfuls. You mix it with hot water, put the whole sloppy mess on your head and then wait. I’m scared, because I didn’t do a strand test first. Who has time for a strand test? I did manage to burn my scalp a little, because I was too impatient. Anyway, I took a ‘before’ picture, but I’m not sure if I’m brave enough to post and ‘after’. It’s still sitting on my head, wrapped in a shower cap. Betcha wish you could see that, huh?
Update: It’s done, and I look exactly the same. *sigh*
