Well, the day was a success. We rented a whole bunch of movies, sat around watching them, and I made food. Two pies (apple and blackberry), turkey breast, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing and – the only part that matters – gravy. I love gravy so much. If I opened a restaurant I’d call it “Stuff With Gravy”. After the turkey coma, I got out the Christmas stuff to sort through it. Teachers get LOTS of Christmas-y things, and it’s time to let some of them go. I did some other stuff during the day, but I think they may be worthy of their own posts.
This morning, we’re having pie for breakfast. We’re living the dream!

We had crazy gravy this year! We had a cajun turkey, and I made the gravey from the turkey drippings as usual. Well, cajun turkey makes for cajun gravy, which no one was expecting, including me.

What a quaint little Bistro setting you have there … love it!
Since the chicken incident, I do all the cooking. First, there’s soup, then lasgna (for those crazy Italians), then of course Butterball turkey, a boat load of gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, candied sweet potatoes, corn, fried zucchini, cranberry sauce, pickled beets, & hot rolls with budda, lots of budda. Then there’s fruit & an asortment of nuts in the shells. Lots of wine. And finally, dessert … pumpkin pie, apple, & choc. mouse in a cloud. I never understood how people eat turkey with no gravy. Communists … Happy Day After!

I think nothing says “Homestyle Traditional Thanksgiving” like eating off of a trunk in front of the television.
