This is the way we wash our tools.

Journal, Lauren

Before Brad arrived, I was running around like crazy trying to put all the stuff away that I drag out for various ‘experiments’. I was also trying to do some laundry, so I was on my way to the basement with a basket of clothes and as I walked through the house I put things in the basket that needed to be stored elsewhere. I got the things put away, the clothes in the machine, ans sat down to do some computer stuff.  I heard a funny noise and wondered why the washer was making such a racket, then discovered the reason while unloading the washer.

Did you know that you’re not supposed to do this?

What the??

Or this?

I need therapy.

Whoops.

I think you should send this in to “Hints from Heloise” as a time saving trick.

It went through the whole cycle, but to be fair, it wasn’t a ‘thunk thunk thunk’ of a hammer bashing the tub. It was the ‘squeak squeak squeak’ of a motor trying to turn a tub full of heavy robes and building materials.

(the worst thing I ever washed was our pet hamster, Bobby, who was forever known as Blobby after “the incident”)

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING IS NOT FOR THOSE WITH WEAK STOMACHS.

After our last round of the stomach virus with the girls, we decided that we needed a washing machine with a garbage disposal.

My mom recently had a similar experience, only she found out she was drying my dad’s cell phone. Not only was it clunking in the dryer, but I think it was buzzing when she pulled it out!
