Some of you may remember that Hartland Clubb promised to send a flowerpot saucer along with his daughter, Alicia, from Delta to Seward. I grew up in Delta, Colorado, and the Clubb’s Ben Franklin store was (and still is) one of the most fun stores to visit. Living in a small town, Main Street had lots of stores – clothing, furniture, and actual drugstores with soda counters, but the more kid-friendly stores were Paul’s Variety, that had a whole row with bins of candy, and Ben Franklin, that had toys!
So a big thanks to the Clubbs, members of my home congregation, and hopefully I’ll get a loaf of this bread to Alicia at Concordia someday. The saucer works like a dream! I have yet to make a GIANT loaf, but that’s coming!
