On Friday when I got home, there was a suspicious package on the doorstep with no return address. I documented the opening in case it turned out to be a bomb and Lloyd needed to know why I was ‘sploded. (I’m sure my camera would have survived.)
Mystery solved! It’s a violin uke from Rae (formerly known as Rachel). I can’t wait to play it! It’s going to take some tuning, though.
Even better, though, were the included paintings. I’m guessing Gracen and Anna had a little to do with them, right?
Deborah says
I’ll be expecting a concert this summer.
Brad says
What the heck is a violin ukulele? Did they just smash two instruments together and call it something that would make people want to learn to play it? I think I’ll invent a new thing called a trumpet piano. Or how about a clarinet kettle-drum?
Peggy says
Yay for surprises in the mail … even if I don’t really know what it is either. Do you play it with a bow? Do you play it in the snow? Can you play it without fear? Can you play it without beer?
Lauren says
Yes, with a bow; no in the snow.
I’ll play without fear, but not without beer.
I do so love my violin uke,
I’ll play and drink until I puke!
Beth says
That should take two beers, right? (heh.)
Lauren says
Not even that.
Michele says
I’m so glad you didn’t spode!
Lauren says
Thanks! 🙂
