Va-ca

Imagine, if you will, Lloyd AND Lauren at a soccer game. It was myfirst one ever! Lloyd’s school made it to state finals, and he didn’t have school on Friday. He sneakily asked Annette if I could have the day off. Nobody except Annette at work reads this, but if they did, I’d like to say Thanks!

The Warriors won, and it was all my doing. Every time I go to the bathroom, the team I’m rooting for wins. It’s a big responsibility having magic pee.

I have to stop. I’m writing this on Lloyd’s phone and it’s too hard.

    They play soccer in Nebraska?!?

I watched my first soccer game ever when I was 24. It was in Seattle. I was fascinated. They never stop running.

I’m pretty sure I have never been to an organized-for-real-soccer game. I don’t know if it’s all the running, or if it’s that I just don’t fit in with those people. Soccer people aren’t like football and wrestling people…it’s too weird for me…
Congratulations on the attendance. And your va-ca!

(Oh, and thanks Annette, Lauren deserves a little va-ca once in a while, and her guilt would never allow her to do it on her own! 😀 )

Those people“? Watch it … I’m a those people … I’m a soccer mom … and a wrestling mom, baseball mom, Twae Kwon Do mom …

Soccer can be a tough game & you the players gotta have skilz … but I’ll admit it’d be better if they were in ice skates.

Ha! Lloyd showed me the best part of soccer -- that clock never stops running. It’s not one of those sports where two minutes on the clock translates to half an hour in real life. I told him a mom invented soccer. “You kids be home in ninety minutes. That’s plenty of time for you to finish up a game.”

Soccer is the same at every level. People, kids or adults, run around and accomplish one goal per 90 minutes. It’s very exciting…

My girls’ soccer teams score a goal once every 4 1/2 seconds.
