Preschool starts back up tomorrow (Monday). This weekend was spent getting the room in order. I would have taken some ‘after’ pictures but I left my camera home during one of my trips back-n-forth. I’m sharing with you a picture from the middle of cleaning my fish tank. I took out the old filter and threw it away before checking to see if I had another one. I didn’t. So, here was the temporary fix.
Y’know, one of the things they never tell you in college is that you’ll be doing weird jobs like this. One of my favorite children’s stories to read at the beginning of the year is “Miss Bindergarten Gets Ready for Kindergarten”. She’s this teacher (who happens to be a dog) who gets up on the first day of school and transforms her classroom from stark to stunning….. right before the children arrive. I get a big chuckle out how unrealistic it is. (She does have the help of a parrot, though. Maybe I should get a parrot…..)
Brad says
Look on the bright side… at least you don’t have a dog’s head. (That picture gives me the jibblies! If my kindergarten teacher looked like that, I’d cry a lot.)
Beth says
YAY for being ready!! Booo for school starting. The thought of the first day of school still turns my stomach. Still. Will that ever change?
Deanne says
So did you get another filter? What kind of fishies do you have? How do the kids respond if the worst happens, and one of their fishie friends goes to fishie heaven?
Deanne says
Oh, and I definitely think you need a parrot. At this point, a young parrot would outlive you, most likely!
Peggy says
I love the homemade filter! You are a GENIUS!!
And maybe your transforming powers will punch up a notch if you change your name … how about Mrs. Bugbats … Gets Ready for the Rugrats.
Beth says
So clever. So early in the morning. Bravo.
Rae says
I love Ms Bindergarten and her alphabet students. Anna and Gracen like to look at the finished room and decide where they would go play first if it was their classroom.
If you do become Mrs. Bugbats, please don’t start dressing like Ms Bindergarten and please remember to remove your tags! 🙂
