Happy Birthday, Brad!
There’s a little candy store just up the mountain from Lauren’s folk’s house, and they took us there last time we went to visit. The candy was homemade and magically delicious. There were also rooms filled with cash registers. I’m not sure what the story was here. It was a little store, and they didn’t have enough employees to use all of these cash registers anyway. I don’t even think they would work with credit cards.

“Big Mac”. Ha!
Lauren says
I like how that one has a hand to point to the numbers, since you’d obviously be distracted by all the technology. “Look here! Stop being dazzled, look here!”
Michele says
I LOVE old stuff like that! It reminds me of Little House on the Prairie!
PS -- I found Lauren!
Lloyd says
It’s like ‘Where’s Waldo’. If we would have known that they had this many cash registers, I would have had Lauren wear her cash register shirt.
Lauren says
Outfit, Lloyd. I have a whole outfit.
Michele says
It’s funny you should say “Where’s Waldo” -- that’s my family nickname. My maiden name is Waldhauser and my brothers’ friends all call them Waldo.
Lauren's mom says
I like the little store. When they first opened, I thought, “How will they ever make a living at this in little Eckert, CO? But they ship out all over the country. If you google, “Drost’s Chocolates” you will see. They are based in Indian River, Michigan. I guess the dad decided to take it easier, and moved here.
Lauren's dad says
According to GoogleEarth, the candy store is 39.3 ft. high in elevation than our house (5564.3 / 5525). I’ve been looking, but no chocolate is flowing down the mountain to our house. 🙁
Lauren says
Let me know when it does -- we’ll be right over!
