It was a very nice day all around. The preschoolers were incredibly busy and productive during the morning, and right before lunchtime, we had a little surprise! Some singers from Lincoln Lutheran stopped by to deliver a singing telegram to them (and some candy for me) from Lloyd, which stunned and amazed the children. They couldn’t come on Friday because of the snow day, and they had Monday off for Presidents’ Day. Beth & Brad’s niece Rachel was among the group! Afterwards, the children were all abuzz at how tall those big kids were, and how they knew ‘our song’ (You are my sunshine)! I didn’t have the presence of mind to take a photo when the singers were there, but I had the preschoolers draw our thanks, and Lloyd will deliver them.
In other news, we heard back from the good people at Baker’s Edge! They are fabulous! I quote, without their permission:
Hi Lauren,
It’s been said that a picture is worth a thousand words. I don’t know whether or not that’s actually true, but in this case, yours is worth a free spatula. Maybe two. (We loved the pic.) If you’ll email me your postal address, I’ll wrap a few up and send them your way.
FYI, we’ve broken that spatula ourselves. We couldn’t get our supplier to improve it, so we’re now in the spatula business too. (At this pace, we’ll take over the world of consumer products in just a few hundred centuries!!) We’ve designed a new spatula made of flexible nylon… it’s a perfect fit for the pan, and I think you’ll find it’s a much better tool.
Fortunately, you won’t have to worry about your pan. A few customers have “tested it” with sledgehammers and the rear wheels of their cars (no kidding), so I’m pretty sure it’ll survive whatever tools you’ll be using as a substitute until your replacements arrive…
Thanks for taking the time to write.
All the best,
David H.
Hooray for Baker’s Edge!!! Good people with a fabulous product! Seriously, if you want a pan, I can hook you up. 🙂
