I bought a salad spinner! (On sale, of course.) I had one a couple of years ago but it broke. I went looking for it Wednesday night and then remembered it was gone/donated/whatever. I feel justified in buying this one, though, because I’ve tried swinging wet, washed lettuce in a pillowcase to spin-dry it, but that makes the night’s sleep a little soggy.
The goal to try to eat three entire heads of romaine lettuce this week (that’s how they’re sold at the store), instead of having one bag of cut-up salad go to liquid before I finally remember to eat salad. Warm weather is coming, and Lloyd can make some pretty awesome salads when he puts his mind to it. He chaffed at the idea of a Brad/Lloyd Salad-Off, though. “Brad’s salads are planned,” he said. “Mine are inspired.” (He didn’t really say that last part, but he shoulda.)
Anyway, gotta go. There’s lettuce to be spun!

I have a gym membership and hardly ever go to the gym. I hope you have more luck.

I don’t get it. What is this used for? Is it a salad mixer? Is it a salad fixer?

It’s to dry lettuce after you’ve washed it. Actually, that’s its official use. It’s real use is to play with -- Spin Spin Spin BRAKE!!!!! (The little button on the side.) Spin Spin Spin BRAKE!!!!! This one has a lawn-mower-like string to start the spinning -- much more fun than the old hand crank model.
