A good deed is its own reward, but stuff is pretty nice, too.
On Sunday I got up at the crack of night to drive Brad to the airport. (Lloyd was going to go, too, but he hemmed and hawed about getting up, and I finally just left him there in bed saying, “Hmmm….. I don’t know…. should I stay in bed?….. should I go?……” *door slams*.) Of course I was glad to drive with Brad, because Brad Time is like Summer Time, plus there was the added bonus of there being Stuff in Omaha.
At the airport, I had already decided not to resist (as I had in the past) the travel blankets that roll up to an impossibly small size. They were out of every color except yellow, but I got one anyway. (It turns out it was on sale – yay!) Once home, I played with it endlessly – tying in into different sari-inspired styles that will never leave this house.
After dropping Brad off for his (extremely late) flight, I headed over to Whole Foods and napped in their parking lot until they opened. They had some things I needed to buy, plus lots of Stuff that I like to look at. I decided to buy some bars of J.R. Liggett’s bar shampoo. (Less packaging, no plastic and all that.) I had tried a different bar shampoo years ago and wasn’t too impressed, but this stuff is great! I wet my hair down, run the bar over it 3 – 4 times, and that little bit lathers up like mad! I’ll let you know in a few days if I have super hippy-hair or not.
UPDATE: It’s January of 2010, now. I used the original formula first and really didn’t care for how it made my hair feel. I’ve used the herbal formula for a couple of weeks now and really like it! So, Lauren, remember: buy the herbal formula.
