Little things for me.

Little things for me.

Eco-Freaky, Gadget

A good deed is its own reward, but stuff is pretty nice, too.

On Sunday I got up at the crack of night to drive Brad to the airport. (Lloyd was going to go, too, but he hemmed and hawed about getting up, and I finally just left him there in bed saying, “Hmmm….. I don’t know…. should I stay in bed?….. should I go?……” *door slams*.) Of course I was glad to drive with Brad, because Brad Time is like Summer Time, plus there was the added bonus of there being Stuff in Omaha.

At the airport, I had already decided not to resist (as I had in the past) the travel blankets that roll up to an impossibly small size. They were out of every color except yellow, but I got one anyway. (It turns out it was on sale – yay!) Once home, I played with it endlessly – tying in into different sari-inspired styles that will never leave this house.

After dropping Brad off for his (extremely late) flight, I headed over to Whole Foods and napped in their parking lot until they opened. They had some things I needed to buy, plus lots of Stuff that I like to look at. I decided to buy some bars of J.R. Liggett’s bar shampoo. (Less packaging, no plastic and all that.) I had tried a different bar shampoo years ago and wasn’t too impressed, but this stuff is great! I wet my hair down, run the bar over it 3 – 4 times, and that little bit lathers up like mad! I’ll let you know in a few days if I have super hippy-hair or not.

Remember, you tried the first bar on September 13th. How long will it last?

UPDATE: It’s January of 2010, now. I used the original formula first and really didn’t care for how it made my hair feel. I’ve used the herbal formula for a couple of weeks now and really like it! So, Lauren, remember: buy the herbal formula.

Hey! Your top picture has a caption that is different than the post title. That’s new, isn’t it?

Yeah, I think that started about 4 months ago. I guess you’ve got something to do with your free period now.

What??? The caption on my computer is the same as the title. What should it say?

In the olden days, the pilgrims washed their hair with soap bars. But of course they didn’t lather like this bar does, what with being made from lard and all.

Would you be brave enough to post a lathered picture? I just can’t believe a bar would make alot of lather. Cause in that case…I gotta try it!

Hmmm, it looks like you might see different things in different browsers. The image has an alt attribute that is the same as the title of the post. The link around the image has a title attribute that is different from the post.

I would guess that you’re using Internet Explorer. Microsoft likes to use the alt attribute in exactly the same manner as the title attribute. I wanted to end this comment with, “Not that there’s anything wrong with that.” but, of course, there it.

Geez Lloyd, you’re a genius!!! I do have Internet Explorer. But just so you know, that’s the only word I understood in your explanation.

Another bug in IE is that your masthead graphic shows up with a gray background rather than the black, just FYI (I just had to see what was going on!).

I spent 10 minutes arguing with my IT guy today who INSISTS that any problem I encounter is the fault of Fire Fox -- rather than the other way around. I find it CRAZY that an IT professional would be so resistant to what is clearly a tried and true browser….

I don’t know that I’ve looked at the site in IE in a long time. When I put the new computer together this Summer I put Windows 7 on it, and so I have IE 8 installed. Everything looks normal in IE 8 (even the title attribute), so I guess I’ll have to specify that I’m complaining about IE 6 and (I suppose) IE 7 from now on.

I think there’s a wordpress plugin that automatically suggests to people who are still using IE 6 that it’s time to move past 2001.

Hmmmm…..interesting. How much do they cost? Plus, where is this Whole Foods? I am not saying I will go there but maybe if I am in the neighborhood.
