Not much got done around here this weekend, but we did manage to get the insulation plug put in the attic fan. The high this weekend was 38 degrees, and since I caved and started up the heat on Friday, darned if I wasn’t going to keep that heat in the house!!
It was the inaugural use of our Little Giant ladder, too. Lloyd ordered it from Woot a month or so ago and got a super deal. Good thing, too, since our old ladder had disappeared.
Boring story ahead: Years ago I asked Lloyd to go downstairs and get the ladder for something, and he was down there a loooong time. “What’s the holdup?” I hollered. “It’s not here,” he hollered back. (I love to say ‘holler’.) I went downstairs to help him – and there it was, opened up, smack dab in the middle of the basement. Seriously? Now whenever we can’t find something around here we say, “It’s probably by the ladder”.
So, you can see the irony of how the ladder has been really gone. We’ve searched and searched, but no dice. Thus the need for the Little Giant. End boring story.
Boy, this post is really banging on, isn’t it? Cut me some slack, I’ve been sick. Long story short, we took off the fan cover, Lloyd put in the two garbage-bag-covered insulation things, and we put the cover back on using the wing nuts that Lloyd has patented. “Wing nuts are key” – that’s his motto.
(BTW, Lloyd said he saw a ladder at his school that looks suspiciously like our old one.)
Brad says
“To make a long story short…”
“Too late.”
I can’t remember what movie that’s from… Is it Clue?
Karla says
I have a friend that always says, “To make a long story longer…” 🙂
Lloyd says
Ol’ Zeke used to say, “To make a long story pretty much the same length…”
Karla says
Zeke as in my son? What?!?
Beth says
Yes. Clue. Col. Mustard. In the study. To Wadsworth.
Deanne says
Did you take your ladder to Lloyd’s school whenever he crawled around in the ceiling? What was that for again?
Karla says
..and that is why my Dad writes “RGB” (in green marker, of course) over everything that he owns.
Beth says
At the risk of having Harold read your website…for the first time in what? five months? I bought a Little Giant ladder from Woot the same day. For Harold, for his birthday this Thursday. Funny.
Lauren says
We should make some sort of stop-action Transformers-ladder movie with them!
Peggy says
‘All-jammies Saturday’.Like the sound of that*! It should become a regular custom…like ‘Bad Movie Night’.
* as I was typing that, I said it in a way that I knew was from a movie…but it took me a few minutes to remember which one. I’m sure it must be said in alot of movies…but $500.00 to which one I’m referring to. And who said it?
