So, it’s Annual Gala time again. This year Lloyd had many members of the Bad Movie Night group together at a table. Curt was there, and Pastor Tooman, Samith and Stephannie (yay!), Bob (a fellow teacher), Matt (another fellow teacher) and his wife Lindsey.

It was a splendid evening. As we drove in, I read the Booklet of Silent Auction Offerings aloud to Lloyd, and almost squealed when I read there would be…. a ukulele! Woo-hoo!!! Needless to say, I made a beeline for it when we got inside and made a super-pest out of myself.

Me: “You should bid on this!”

Random Attendee: “Who are you? Let go of my arm.”

It was out of tune, so I took it upon myself to tune it. Also to shine it. And then to read it a story. *sigh*

Hello, little friend.

We looked around at the many offerings, then it was time to eat. The food was great. They had a delicious salad (with bacon bits and egg slices, so it was basically eating breakfast), then an entree with chicken and beef (which was like lunchand dinner, then a chocolate dessert that was so rich it could have been bidding.

Then it was time for speeches and the live auction. That part gets a little tedious for an ADD person like me, so Steph showed me her cool phone that gets t.v. channels, and then I played with the macro on my camera.

So arty.

Later, we found out that Katie (a fellow teacher) had won the ukulele for her son, so of course I offered to play it for a while to say a weepy goodbye keep it in tune.

As it turns out, the Bad Movie Night people were some pretty high rollers. Curt bid over a thousand on a condo trip and won, Matt bid over a thousand on a laptop and won, and Pastor Tooman & company bid $700 to name the school driveway. Everybody chipped in to help with the big ‘help buy new vans’ project, too. It was a great night. Well done, everyone.

Mmm… One of the signs in that picture says something about pie. At our church auctions I always bid on the pie.

Hey! That reminds me: Happy Pi Day everybody!

Now that is a funny line.

First time I read this, I thought Curt bid on a ConGo trip!
Sounds like fun evening for all!
