Well, check ‘attend a T-ball’ game off my life list.
It’s no secret that I am not a sports person. Thankfully I can live in my own head for quite some time, so any sporting events I attend are filled with fabulous daydreams. Brad’s in town, though, so we went along to watch his niece, Tara, play a game.
It was perfect. Short (three innings – each player gets to bat three times), easy to follow (clap for everything everyone does – the absolute best part) and short (three innings – each… wait, did I say that already? Must have been daydreaming.)
Brad’s got the right idea – adult T-Ball. I could play with my poor skills, and everyone would cheer! That would be awesome! No pressure, no worries about winning (or just not embarassing yourself).
This is not to say that the kids had no skilz. They were batting, throwing, catching and sliding like nobody’s business. My favorite was the little girl who ran to home plate, stopped, then stepped on it deliberately like she was squishing a bug.
By the way, today’s photo was brought to you by Lloyd’s new iPhone.
Brad says
It was truly fun: hit the ball, run one base. When the last hitter hits, everyone runs home. People were cheering; the players were psyched. My favorite was the third inning “make a dirt angel” break. It was like a snow angel, but in the dirt.
Peggy says
What?!? No vuvuzelas at the game!

Lauren's mom says
Lauren,
Do you get the “old” iPhone or did Lloyd have to trade it in?
Lauren says
Lloyd is trading it in so we can have an iPod at school to keep track of schedules. He’s very generous that way.
