Tonight was the summertime Settlers of Catan game, which meant that Lloyd, Beth, Harold, Charles and Brad (who plays, but doesn’t want to) played their little game. (Curt, we’re sorry you weren’t there. It all came about very suddenly, though, so no hard feelings?)
Deborah and I did Not Play. Instead, she made a Fancy Drink. I did Not Drink Anything except Water, since my Stomach Has Issues. I’ve decided to Capitalize Stuff Randomly, just to Be Funny.
Ok, on to the Mint Julep. Julip? Whatever. We have some spearmint in our yard, and Deborah says that this is how iht’s duhn. (Say that in a Southern drawl, y’all, like Paula Deen.)
Put some mint leaves in a glass, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and smash smash smash.
Add ice, some whiskey, and some orange juice. I was too lazy to actually mix up the orange juice, but Deb said the concentrate would work just fine.
Decorate with mint, let steep, sip slowly on a porch whilst fannin’ yeourselves, y’all.
We tried to make this once a couple of years ago and really messed it up. What did Deb do that was So Magical?
