I went to the clinic today to have them look at my wrist/arm. I tried earlier in the week to make an appointment, but the times never jived up. If you can’t get an appointment, you can just show up on Saturday morning, and they see people on a first come, first served basis.
Yesterday, I was first come. I brought a book with me, and was ready to sit around until noon, but I arrived at 7:50 and left at 8:20. I only got to read 7 pages of my book.
The doctor looked at my arm. He twisted and poked, had me do things until it hurt and then gave me a wet paper towel* to put on it. I also got a weeks worth of anti-inflammatory drugs. This should be useful, because I’m often inflammatory around the time school starts.
The good news is that even a low level wound like this can be milked for sympathy from Lauren. You just hold your wrist out like a kitty-kat with a hurt paddy-paw and make a sort of “wrorw-wrorw” sound and she comes and pats you on the head.
*Lauren here: A wet paper towel is the middle level of Preschool First Aid. The order is: Lowest Level of Injury: Drink of water at the drinking fountain. Mid-Level Injury: Wet paper towel. Highest Level of Injury: Bandaid and/or ice in a plastic bag.
