Lately, there are so many times I first can’t even recall a word…much less be able to remember how to spell it. And it’s usually a very common word. Of course I can’t recall any at the moment.
When I was younger, we had some relatives from Germany come to visit. One of them couldn’t say mosquito correctly -- she said mossy toe. That’s what my family frequently calls them now.
Charlie had been reading about something having to do with a boot. Then he read ‘foot’ which in his head obviously rhymed with boot, and said ‘What’s a foot? That’s not a real word!’ I pointed to his foot, and a few seconds later came the ‘oh’. We still laugh about that one.

I once couldn’t remember how to spell “shelf”. I remember thinking: Is that even a word? Shelf. Shelf.
