Happy Thanksgiving

November 24, 2010

I’m thankful for my family, and I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume that Lauren is thankful for her family too (actually, I might be more thankful for her family than she is). But her family isn’t as photogenic as my family (sorry guys) so no picture of them.

Oh, and new windows. those are swell too.

Family and windows… what more could a man ask for?

    Well, maybe a TV.

I am thankful for nighttime cold medicine that knocks you out. Oh, and all the usual stuff, too.

Hofman family, we need a photo!

I’m thankful for not ruining Thanksgiving by finding something dead in my cabinet. I have a cabinet of serving dishes that I use very rarely & when I opened it to get one out last night, there was the most disgusting smell ever wafting out. I called Matt (he’s an Army guy for pete’s sake) & said ‘There’s something dead in there. Please find it & get it out.” He bravely went in searching for a mouse or a rat or ???? What did he find? A bag of potatoes…well, what used to be potatoes. My guess is they’ve been in there since Easter.

Our Thanksgiving is turning into a comedy of errors. The cheap onions from Heartland Pantry are (a) moldy or (b) rotten. The potatoes are a little too “soft” for their own good. The Lauren is feeling worse rather than better. It would not have been a good day for travel.
