So, since we were actually out in the yard this weekend, such excitement has provided us with an entire week of posts. You probably don’t remember when I filled the tree with mortar to try and seal up the ants. I’m saying you probably don’t remember because I didn’t remember, and no search of ‘concrete’ or ‘handprint’ would bring up that post.
I noticed that the handprint is being eaten by the tree.
My hand doesn’t fit there anymore, so either the scar is closing up, or you people are too polite to point out my gargantuan hand.

That’s a good sign! The tree is growing instead of dying.
If that mortar gets completely swallowed, you’ll have to remember it’s there so you don’t take a chainsaw to that tree. Chainsaws and mortar don’t mix (or so I’ve heard).

Brad is SO right. Also chainsaws and wire don’t mix, as I found out while cutting down a tree that had grown around a wire fence(re: brad’s post yesterday about your holly bush)

That is wonderful! Once again you are a HERO!!

I secretly have to get her ring resized every year so that she doesn’t notice how big her hands are getting.
