Lloyd and I had planned to go to Colorado this weekend, but we are staying to go to Kate’s mom’s funeral on Saturday. Since we both had Friday off, it seemed like a good time to get things done. We went to Lincoln and I got a long-overdue haircut, tried to get an eye appointment (it will be later today), and Lloyd made an appointment to get his hearing checked. Whew. Then we were hungry.
He took me to Two Twins Cafe, a place he and co-worker Bob have visited before. It was great! It’s just by that one candy place off that street on your way to Target – you can’t miss it.
It’s owned by two twin sisters, Kim and Denise, and they definitely are doing things right. One of them greeted us at the door and welcomed us with ‘Happy Good Friday!’ We got to see them as they ate their lunch (it was early afternoon and had slowed down). It was like seeing celebrities!
Our food was great. I ordered the French Dip, as is my custom no matter where I go, and Lloyd had an amazing salmon burger. I liked that the portions were reasonable and that my a jus’ came in a bowl deep enough to avoid the sloshing that usually ruins a good bun bottom.
Afterwards we went to look at the dessert case, and one of the twins came by to talk to us. She was so friendly, and actually remembered Lloyd! “You were here with Bob, weren’t you? Tell Bob he needs to come back soon.”
So, if you’re ever on that one street in Lincoln, eat that good food. You’ll be glad you did.
