A good long time ago I was working on my own school stuff while at Lloyd’s school some weekend. Being trapped in a place keeps me focused.
Um, usually.
After a good hour of working at a desk, I looked up at the window.
That crummy old curtain was made from two pieces of cloth quickly stapled together when he first moved into that room. SOMEone was in a big hurry to cover the window and couldn’t be bothered to sew it. Hmmmm…. whoever could be so lazy?
Well, years later I thought I should fix it. With dry-erase marker!
There was some prototyping. I thought a checkerboard pattern would be cool, but that was tedious. I also thought other colors would show, but black was really the only workable option.
Nope. Swirls. Swirls were definitely the way to go.
Swirl. Swirl. Swirl. It just might be my favorite word.
Brad says
Cool. That looks a lot like the bubble clusters I do when I’m doodling during a meeting. Next time I’ll have to try swirls.
Swirl… Swirl… It IS a fun word. Swirl.
Gretchen says
So some swirls are clockwise and some are counterclockwise? How do you decide which way to swirl?
Lauren says
I don’t decide -- the pen does. It’s a very zen process. 🙂
Lloyd says
The clockwise ones are done from the inside. The counter-clockwise ones are done from the outside.
Peggy says
Excellent idea!! I hate hanging curtains. HATE. It’s the reason I
neverseldom wash my curtains. This idea is genius….and if a doodle on the windows & then do some coloring in, I’ll be the only one in the neighborhood with stained-glass windows.
