Yesterday was the last day of school for me (school never ends for Lauren). We are having surprisingly few teacher meetings this year and I’m nearly done with grading, so I should be free pretty soon.
Next week I’ll start spending my time making up important sounding things to tell Lauren that I’ve been doing while she’s been at work. it takes longer than you might think.
But that’s not what I wanted to say today. I wanted to show you this not altogether disappointing video that some of my students made in Video Editing Class. It’s a rip-off of homage to a more famous video, but one that I hadn’t seen before…
Lauren says
I love it, and now have a fierce desire to film myself dancing in various locations. Looks like my weekend plans are set!
Brad says
First of all, HAHAHA! Awesome! Friendship always DOES win!
Secondly, did they get an ‘A’?
Thirdly, what’s the original movie? If it’s as fun as this one, I’d enjoy watching it too. What a great way to start the day.
Brad says
I found it.

I like the one your students did better. It seems happier to me. And the dancing matches the beat of the music better. …though I do really like the dancing tree in the original video.
Lauren says
It’s the wild abandon of the dancing that makes it so great.
Lloyd says
Yes, they got an A on it. They were very excited about it and tried to keep it a secret from the rest of the class, but they showed a few people the day before, and by 3rd period I had students coming in to watch it.
Peggy says
EXCELLENT!!!! And I laughed out loud!! Your students sure make some fine videos….they are truly supreme!!
(I arrived rather grumpy at work this morning due to the 5 mile hike I know have to take to get to my building due to construction. This video really brightened my mood AND gave me a great idea on how to make my trek across campus for the next 3 months.)
Brad says
…wearing full “Scream” attire?
Peggy says
hehe…and now yes, that too!
Christina says
I have to say, I like the kids version better than the original. They did a great job on the transitions, especially the one where he was spinning around. I just like the idea of the grim reeper over the silly looking lion…..much more interesting! Your students ROCK!
Beth says
I loved that. And then I got tired. That’s a lot of dancing.
And also, they picked the right guy for the lead role. He’s got moves.
