These photos are old and blurry (taken in haste with an iPhone), but still this game is as creepy as all get out. Better yet would be its catchy commercial: It’s the infestation that’s sweeping the nation!
Do you wonder why this was in the clearance section?? Why wasn’t it snatched off the shelves like its counterparts: Krazy Kochroaches or Leapin’ Lice or Scurryin’ Scabies?
I had a panic attack for half an hour after going through this aisle.

I’ve been playing this game with my students for 15 years, it is a school OT staple. But I have seen it with fresh eyes after reading your post. You’re right. What was I thinking? The premise is disgusting. Now, what are your impressions of the games Cooties and that champion of poor taste, Operation?
Lauren says
I’m alright with Cooties, except for the darn tiny pieces that get lost. (I’m talking to you, eyes.) I do not fear cooties because I always carry my ‘spray’ around from elementary school. (Two crossed fingers and a “ssspppppp” sound.) I am embarrassed to say that I’ve never actually played Operation, so I don’t know.
Bedbugs, though, are far too close to batbugs, which I have had a far too intimate experience. Warning: If you want to freak out, read this. Sorry.
Mary Ellen says
Oh my! And I thought the fleas our dog brought home from the boarder was a hassle. How do you handle the inherent threat of lice that goes with your job?

And don’t forget this one! This game was on my kids’ Christmas list….and that crazy Santa actually got it for them:

It looks like it was made by the French. Perhaps bed bugs are actually quite fashionable in Europe.
