Something amazing came in the mail!
It’s not everyday you see a big ol’ package from Germany in your mailbox!
Gretchen sent along an adorable hedgehog cheese grater to join the Kitchen Gang! I even knew what ahead of time because it had to be declared on the front sticker. No more sneaking illegal items to me, Miss Gretchen. They’re onto us.
One beef I have with this unexpected bit of joy is that Gretchen is yet one more person I know with cool handwriting. I need to know more chicken-scratchers like me.
So, now I need to come up with some cool way to display all these animals. Maybe some sort of zoo on the wall?
Gretchen says
WOW that was fast! I just mailed it on Monday! That gives me new faith in our little outpost of a post office.
Brad says
Germans use hedgehogs to predict the weather. When they came to the US, they couldn’t find any hedgehogs, so they had to use groundhogs, and called it Groundhog Day. Maybe you can use your new cheese grater to predict the weather. That would be cool.
Lauren says
“Hmmmm… That hedgehog looks wet. It will rain today.”
“Hmmmm… That hedgehog looks cold. Wear a coat today.”
“Hmmmm… That hedgehog is drinking margaritas. Must be balmy today.”
Peggy says
That is the coolest, cutest thing ever!!!! I think I would sit it in my living room!
Lloyd says
Normally, cheese graters scare me. I worry that I will be distracted for a moment, grate the last bit of cheese and then grate my finger tips.
But this little guy is so cute. I’m sure he would never do anything like that.
John and Kate Brady says
Hmmm . . . maybe we’ll have to consider a cheese grating project at preschool!
