In the hospital

Well, we made it to Missouri. Today marks the first time in years that I drove through Kansas City without terrible, terrible weather, so that is another thing to be thankful for. Lloyd’s dad is doing well – he’ll probably have bypass surgery in a few days, but at least he’s winning at cards.

He’s wide awake and doing well. Lloyd’s mom and sister had a mini Thanksgiving feast right there I’m the room, and then they played pinochle. Thanks for the prayers!

About Lloyd

Ahh…a hospital celebration! We had Christmas is Rochester, MN in 2000. We played dominoes until Brad went into a self-induced coma. And Mom drove to WalMart to buy a Christmas tree, but accidentally locked her keys in her car, and this was before cell phones so she had to have someone call a locksmith. It turned into something like a $123 table-top Christmas tree. Good memories, those are! 🙂

Glad you made it safely, glad you’re all able to be together, and most importantly glad Lloyd’s Dad is safe and able to be taken care of and treated!

    Praying for Grandpa Sommerer!

We celebrated a family graduation once when my mom was in ICU. My uncle wanted to open a hospital-waiting-room-catering business called “I-C-U Having a Party.”

We spent Thanksgiving 2005 in the hospital. My older son had pneumonia. We spent the day watching cartoons on Nick Jr and strangely every one had a theme of “The worst thing EVER would be to be sick on Thanksgiving!” My son didn’t really think it was that bad since we didn’t have cable and never would have let him watch a solid day of TV at home.
