It was just about exactly this time last week when I started dismantling the old site to get rid of some problems that I couldn’t seem to get rid of any other way. Then my dad ended up in the hospital (he’s recovering nicely), and Lauren and I ended up jumping in the car and driving 7 hours instead.
Now I think things are, more or less, working again. I’m pretty sure that there are some things that were on the sidebar of the old site that I’ve simply forgotten about, and there’s probably some other functionality that I forgot to put back as well. If you notice anything that’s missing, let me know.
I updated a lot of things, so I’m interested in knowing if the site seems faster or slower, and also if you feel more or less fulfilled for having visited it. I actually disabled a fair number of things that were supposed to make it faster, just to see what the new version was like by itself.

I see that while you were at it you did not change the order of the names to Lauren And Lloyd in an effort to reflect the primary and secondary status of authors based on total number of journal entries…
Brad says
Mary Ellen: Try typing http://www.laurenandlloyd.com into your address bar. Hehe… I think that has worked since the beginning.
This reminds me of a question I’ve wondered about before. When naming couples, is the person with less syllables always named first?
Ozzie and Harriet, Fred and Ethel, George and Gracie, Arnold and Maria
…Or is it just that the man tends to be named first in our culture?
Peggy says
Yikes! Something else to give my brain a cramp. I’ll be pondering this & get back to you.
Beth says
I think it’s syllables. Because everyone says “Beth and Harold” instead of “Harold and Beth”.
But I am only one example.

I love that picture! 🙂
The site looks cleaner. It seems to load very quickly.
I don’t like that the first post has a “Continue reading…” button, and I don’t like that I can’t read the comments on the first post by just scrolling down.
Kristi says
Ditto on the “continue reading” button.
I can’t figure out how to show the comments right along with the post. Please advise.
Everything loads quickly. Love it!

Yeah, I want to fix that, but it will probably take me a couple of hours to do it. Frankly, I don’t know why that isn’t just an option in wordpress. It seems to me that lots of people would find that useful, but most blog type websites don’t work that way.
In fact, does anyone have an example of a website, apart from Brad’s that does that?
Peggy says
I think the site looks great, as always. And I always use the link from Brad’s site to get here….and it comes up pretty fast.
But I agree with Brad….I liked the other way when you didn’t have to click “continue reading”. But I’m very fulfilled!
(Yikes! Did I use my quotations & exclamations correctly?)
Peggy says
PS—-Great news about your Dad! Prayers continuing….

Arron and I were just talking about this the other night. It seems like his friends, family and co-workers call us Arron and Karla. And my friends, family and co-workers call us Karla and Arron. So really, it depends on how they know us.
