Today was a wonderfully uneventful day. With the exception of a hour helping with a little project at work, the entire day was spent sitting on the couch reading. I had been loaned a friend’s copy of the second book in the Hunger Games trilogy and had finished it. I wanted to read the third, but was too lazy to leave the house. So, I bought my first e-book.
There is some guilt that accompanies this purchase. I do worry about the demise of paper books and mourn how bookstores struggle, but I am justifying this by saying that it will only happen once. (The first hit is free.) That being said, it was crazy handy! If I had my own iPad, I think I might read this way more often.
I did have to make some adjustments to my beverage container while I read, though. Can’t be spilling liquid on that expensive technology, y’know.

Dang it, I want to read those books, but haven’t gotten to it yet. I did make a point of watching the movie while it is still in theaters. Based on its success, I’d guess the others are being planned now.

Fascinating. Lloyd and I both though that if you hadn’t read the first book, the movie wouldn’t have made much sense. Samith hadn’t read it, and he said it seemed very sloooow.

How big is the font you’re using to read? I love how you can adjust that on those technological toys.
Lauren says
Medium font -- perhaps the best argument for using it for reading. I get headaches from regular books, but my eye doctor keeps saying I’m not ready for bifocals. I think he’s crazy.

Well, hello again to my parrellel world there is Seward…I’m just now starting to read the 2nd book in the Hunter Games series. I doubt I’ll finish it in one day though….especially beings our weather here today is perfect for napping. We’ll see. What are you doing today Lauren….I’d like to know what I’m in for tomorrow.
And I’m sorry for book stores too….but at least trees are being saved. Happy Earth Day! I LOVED the movie “Chimpanzee”!

Tomorrow you will be catching up on the laundry, and making a good stab at cleaning up some messes that have been around for weeks. 😉
