I received a delightful surprise in the mail today. Tammy, Beth’s sister-in-law, sent me a lovely knit sling bag. I believe we’ve discussed knitting before, and I most likely lamented my lack of fine-motor skills. Well, Tammy’s got ’em. This thing is gorgeous!
The colors are brilliant, and the lining is a fun tropical print.
As beautiful as the color scheme is, though, what impresses me most is how even the stitches are. I know that doesn’t sound like a high complement, but I honestly don’t know how people do it. I’ve taken a stab at knitting before and just I don’t get it – my arms and fingers contort and it’s as awkward as a crab trying to apply eye liner. (I can’t think of a good analogy.)
So thank you, Tammy! I won’t knit you anything in return! And for that – you are welcome. 🙂

I really like brightly colored yarn. When I’m in a store that has it, I often look at it and touch it and wish I had some reason to buy it. Maybe I’ll just start filling a room with yarn balls. Or I could fill a papasan chair frame with them and use it as a place to sleep.

It is almost the perfect width for an iPad, but it’s too tall. I’ll take one about half as tall, with a little flap that folds over and either a button or one of those cool magnetic clasps to keep it closed.
Surely there’s a market for something like that.

The fine motor skills skipped over me and landed on my little sister with a double dose. She is a fine piano/organ player (not me) and can crochet (not me). I can throw a football better than she can, though.
Very nice knit sling bag! Well done!

YAY!! Go Tammy! 😀
(And Tammy, there may really be a market for iPad covers/cases. I’ll get you the dimensions…)

I’m thrilled that you like it!! When I saw the bright yarn, I thought of you and then I looked at the label and the color name was Primary -- perfect! I always look at the color name, not just the yarn itself -- somehow the name matters to me. Lloyd, thanks for the iPad cover idea -- what color would you like?
Lloyd says
It looks to me like you do a great job picking out colors.

Pink?
Lloyd says
I could SOOO pull off pink. But I’m pretty sure that there is no yarn that is simply called “pink.”
