Well, I did something today for my vacation that was not napping! I got a call Sunday night from Ed, one of our church’s awesome custodians asking if I’d come help with some painting. Long ago we filled out some ‘Time and Talent’ surveys at church, and painting is something I could actually help with.
I went over from 8:30- noonish and it was actually pretty fun. I was on my own for the first hour and then some other people came, too. I was open with Ed that 1) I don’t like to rely on tape for edging and 2) I am a little picky about cutting in, yet I love the joy of rolling. Therefore – 3) I liked working alone. He was fine with that.
I worked on my section of the school hallway and so did everyone else. We were all amazed at how munch we got done in a short amount of time!
Tomorrow I can putz around all I want! Woo-hoo!

Yay for putzing!! And Yay for you helping out on your vacation!
I like painting in places where you don’t have to worry about moving furniture or stepping on the sleeping dog.

I’m doing some painting at my parents house too. My painting style is “quick and dirty” -- that is as fast as I possibly can and worry about splatters later. While painting I also have come to the conclusion that I should never own a house again. Renting rocks!!

I, too, do not like to use tape. I think I’ve been let down too many times.

So, are you going to paint Lloyd’s barn?
