Brad jolted me out of my sedentary day by suggesting we all go for walk on the trail that runs around Seward. Lloyd said ‘no’, because he was busy keeping the enemies from getting to the tower in his Very Important Game. Apparently, there are wolves involved.
Whatever.
Brad called his mom to see if she wanted to come, and she said ‘yes’, but was at the library and needed to stop home to get her walking shoes.
I giggled internally when we met up with her, because instead of crummy tennis shoes like I had put on, she had on a pair of beautiful sandals. Walking sandals, yes, but definitely not ratty Keds that had recently been in a lake.
Along the sides of the trail there were some little signs. During the 4th of July they had a Book Walk event and you could read the story I Went Walking as you walked along the trail. They still have the pages up.
Do you think they’ll ever take them down? Maybe they’re up so the mountain lion will have something to read. Oh yeah, did I mention that we have some mountain lions terrorizing Nebraska? It’s a bit of a downer when taking a walk.
I only go on this trail when a Royuk suggests it – only once every couple of years – and each time I wonder why I don’t do it more often. It’s truly lovely and peaceful, even if there are occasional trees of marijuana growing alongside. Trees, I tell you! Everyone lets it grow, though, because it’s the ‘wrong kind’. I don’t know what they’re talking about – you can still make rope out of it, right?
It was hot walking, but since it was only in the mid-80’s it felt bearable. I tell you, that is the blessing to come out of my two weekends in Missouri – a slightly higher tolerance for heat.
Slightly. Let’s not get crazy here.

Hmmm, with all those wolves & enemies….was Lloyd playing a real game or was he at a political convention? ba-dump-bump
Your pictures look awesome! It almost makes me want to go for a walk!
And that’s a really good picture of you & your Mom Brad! Let’s hear it for good sandal walking shoes, and nice looking walking hats!

Go Ron! Go Nebraska!
Will this be televised on any stations like CNN or ???

It ended up being a really nice walk, in spite of the fact that we chose the hottest part of the day to go. I’m looking forward to the time when the path circles Seward!
