I spent nearly all day in my pajamas today – woo hoo!!! (There was a meeting at church in the evening, so I did shower and put on real clothes before then, but right before then.)
I also fulfilled a vacation wish of having some sort of media marathon. I really, really want to watch all the Twilight movies in a row because I think I would get a real kick out of yelling at the television because it’s so, so stupid on so many levels, but I’d need to reactivate my Netflix account to do that, and it’s way too much work for me at this point in my relaxation. So, next best thing: Downton Abbey on Hulu.
I had heard people reference the show several times on different t.v. shows, so I wanted to see what the fuss was about. It is not a comedy, as Brad had thought, but a pretty good period drama about a rich, royal turn-of-the-century family. I got through several episodes, but curbed my sloth somewhat by watching it on my iPad and dragging it from room to room as I did little jobs around the house: laundry, finally putting the stuff away in the toy room from when Sam and Rachel were here, and putting up some window clings in the bedroom.
The old windows had the cloth liquid-starched to the bottom half, but when the new windows went in I just recycled some curtains.
The curtains are nice in the winter when they block the cold, but in the summer they are a bit of overkill. I really just need something to block the neighbors from seeing that I’m parading around in my pajamas all day. Some flowery window covers ought to do the trick.
I have to hand it to Auction Boy, sometimes is handy to have a giant papercutter.
I made some of the cuts a little short, but honestly- who cares, right? ‘Good enough for who it’s for’ and all that.
So, all in all – a successful vacation day. Speaking of vacation, Keren and her boys are traveling back to Alaska today via trains, planes and automobiles (but not necessarily in that order). Your prayers for safe travel would be appreciated!
