It was a great Labor Day. I primed the Cat Disaster Area, took a nap, had a meeting with Deborah and then she fed us, then painted a bit more. Unfortunately, I sat on the lid of the primer can, so I have paint on my behind. You are welcome for my not posting a photo.
I didn’t take any photos, so here are some blasts from the past – Lloyd and I as kindergarteners:
Lloyd is standing with his sister Christina, and he is probably really rubbing it in that he is going to school but she is staying home. Big brothers are like that. Look at her ignore him and smile like a champ. Little sisters are like that.
I could be projecting here.
This is my class photo in kindergarten. Look at all those smiling kids. Look at all the aides! Our school district must have been rich. I was in the afternoon group. That’s me – second row, fourth from the right, green dress with rick-rack. I had my rag curls goin’ on. Oh, how I wanted curly hair.
See the following example:
Speaking of curls, I have to show you Nanette, the funniest person I ever knew. Check out the hair, combined with the shirt:
Far left, true to herself. I can just see her mom spending all that time getting her hair curled and piled on her head like a bride, and Nanette insisting on jeans and a t-shirt. Tomboy to the core, that’s her.
Oh, that boy in the yellow and black striped bumblebee shirt in front of me? I’m pretty sure that’s Rusty Rice.
