Today, Thursday, was a great day. (I am so grateful that I don’t have to work this week.) The day started off sad because Brad left at 5 a.m. Actually, it started before then because the cats woke up at 4 when he did and came downstairs to knock stuff off the counters. (I am sleeping on the couch to help my voice come back. The codeine makes for motionless sleep.)
After Brad left, I went back to sleep. (Sorry, Brad.) Lloyd left at 7:30 for Lincoln and I went back to sleep. (Sorry, Lloyd.) Brad would text updates of his travels and I would groggily reply, then go back to sleep. I woke up ‘officially’ at 10:30, grabbed some coffee and dry Honeycomb cereal, then back to the sofa!
It was fantastic! I accomplished nothing except relaxing. There was no one in the house to talk to so my voice got some rest, and I watched gobs and gobs of daytime television: cooking shows, advice shows, talk shows, infomercials. So wonderful. Every so often I would look around and think, “Y’know, you could clean something,” but I forcefully told myself, “No! You are recovering from a life-threatening cold! Any extra exertion could mean the end of you! Now go make some popcorn and turn on Dr. Phil.” I thanked myself for saving myself’s life. I am my hero.

I think being completely lazy after Christmas is my new holiday tradition (though I celebrated Lazy Day on December 26th this year.) My husband was decluttering and rearranging furniture and I was obsessively Stumbling on StumbleUpon. Good times.

“I am my hero” Ha!
I plan to have a similar day today, except it’s going to be in front of my Xbox.

Relaxing is definately an accomplishment! I feel sorry for those who cannot master this task!
Glad you are feeling better! And you are a hero to many!
