*sigh*
We had been invited to the Royuks for Easter lunch, so Saturday afternoon I made some cookies to take over. I forgot about icing them until fairly late that night. (By the way, my new favorite icing for sugar cookies is just lemon juice and powdered sugar. Mmmmmmmm…….it’s like eating crumbly, buttery lemonade.)
Anyway, I did the dip method to ice them (quick, quick, quick), but they would have all stuck together if I stacked them. I single-layered them in various containers. One was a pan with a glass lid, and I knew the dumb cats would sabotage it, so I hid it in the microwave. (They haven’t figured out how to open that…… yet.) I figured the other containers with plastic lids would be safe out on the counters.
I am so stupid.
Easter morning I was drying my hair when I heard a huge crash.
Stupid Ralph. He had pushed the big Pyrex dish off the counter and was rolling around in the glass, mightily pleased with himself. “Look what I did! It’s like a danger piñata!”
Needless to say, I was a little rushed to get to church this morning. Grrrrrrr.

Hey there Ralphie boy (said in my best Ed Norton voice)….that wasn’t very nice!
And YUMMY……those cookies sound delicious! I love lemon cookies! I’m going to have to try these. I hope you were able to salvage enough after all that hard work.

That dish didn’t just break -- it shattered! Look at all those tiny pieces! I would be afraid to walk in the kitchen without shoes.

Oh, yeah it was pretty bad. I swept and vacuumed before church. After church we went over the floor with damp paper towels and picked up many, many, many glass splinters. Looks like metal pans for this house from now on.

The worst part is that I only got to eat half a cookie. After I finished my desert at the Royuk’s (another half piece of prime rib) they were all gone.
