Today was Gathering of the Talents at Concordia – the day when young children come from far and wide to sing, play, show artwork or writings so that they can win ribbons or monkeys. (I’m not really sure what the prizes are since they Lloyd and I are not a part of it.)
I knew that the Kolliparas were in town and would be stopping by, but when Lloyd talked to Samith on the phone after lunch, he said, “Blah blah blah, I don’t know for sure what John will want to do.” I had no idea what he was talking about. Apparently John Rienke, and old friend from high school and college, had brought his daughters up for GOTT, too!
They all stopped by and we had a nice visit. John’s a musician so I broke out all the ukuleles and made everyone hate music. Wally did a respectable job showing off how he can mostly play fetch now. Later we went out for dinner at Dragon Palace, but this time Lloyd remembered his wallet so we didn’t stick John with the bill like we did Sam and Rachel. All I know is that for a buck fifty you can get a whole teapot of tea that comes with an adorable cup to use. Yep, that’s what I took away from this day.

Awesome! An unexpected school reunion…..only in Seward! Sounds like a super fun day.
And I wish you would have made a video of the uke playing. I would have loved to have heard it.

A monkey would be a super cool prize!
…until you realize you have to buy all that Monkey Chow to feed it.
Kristi says
Did you stand on the refrigerator to take that picture?

I held the camera up high and hoped for the best. 🙂
