Hate it.
REALLY hate it.
There is so much hatred in my body for clothes shopping that I don’t think I can put it into words. Not rational words, anyway.
I don’t understand fashion. I can’t put outfits together. I am cheap. I don’t like taking my clothes off to try other clothes on. I think most clothes look stupid. I think all clothes are overpriced. I am angry at how things are sized.
I cycle through the above thoughts whenever I think about buying something, but today I thought I’d be brave and get a pair of shorts for summer. (I have worn the same 6 capri pants for the past four years. Hey – good enough for me.) I walked into Kohl’s, circled around, and walked right out. “I don’t need shorts.”
I tried again at Scheels’. (They specialize in sports stuff.). I walked over to a clearance rack where there were two pair of shorts from two different companies. Different sizes and different prices. ($25 and $40) Did you catch that?! FORTY DOLLARS and they were on CLEARANCE! Back in ‘Ought Eight when I bought my last pair of pants I only spent twenty bucks, and they had three times as much material. I actually tried them on (blah) and the fit EXACTLY THE SAME even though they were different sizes. Stupid companies.
I bought the cheaper ones, even though they were overpriced. At least I won’t have to go shorts shopping again.
