Happy belated Earth Day!
I like Earth Day because my lesson planning practically writes itself. My class hasn’t really hit recycling/composting yet, so this is the time to do it. We began by making paper.
I was so proud of myself for remembering to take the old new blender to school, since I switched out the old old one and brought it home for its superior blending power.
The kids, of course, thought the whole process was magical.
I, of course, was wondering when I was going to get to the store.
You get like that after several years of teaching. You’ve worked out the kinks to projects so while the paper pulp is whizzing away and you’re pointing out how the colors mix, what you’re really thinking is, “I am out of bath soap. That’s never happened before. When am I going to get more soap?”
I wonder if I have soap in the downstairs bathroom.
