For some reason the ribbon that was up on the wall came down. (I blame Wally. He knows where the snacks are.)
When I painted the kitchen years ago, I stuck the ribbon up with liquid starch, but I’m out of liquid starch. Fortunately, it’s a thing you can make! Water, corn starch, and heat.
I did this when I played with the duvet and fan, because I wanted to make an actual cave. (They do that with concrete fabric, y’know.) This time I just needed a little.
At this point it was just a slurry. Please note that I added more than this and it was WAY too much starch.
Next, nuking it at 30-second intervals. This is when it got interesting. Bleh!! See those clear-ish globules? That’s cooked starch.
A couple more rounds in the microwave and I had a pretty stiff batch of goop. (See above) Gross. I added a little water, smeared some on the back of the ribbon, and stuck it back up. I used the handle of the stirring spoon to push the last little bit in.
Then I threw away a bunch of goop. That, my friends, was Sunday.

Does the starch work on cats? I’m thinking this is an excellent time-out method for improper kitty behavior.

Ha!

I never knew such ingredients acted as a glue.
Could I hem pants with this stuff? I’m all thumbs with a needle & thread.
Lauren says
Hem pants and make gravy!
