I was looking through some old photos last week and, because Brad needed it for other things, I happened to have the scanner setup. Since Lauren went to bed early tonight, let me share with you the results of the Concordia Teacher’s College A Cappella Choir 1990 Choir 1 vs. Choir 2 drink off:
Unfortunately, choir 1 lost. But I bet if we had a rematch now (23 years later), we would lose again.
Lauren says
Drinking beer? Weren’t you guys just having a German breakfast?
We were in choir long enough to go on two trips to Germany, but I didn’t go along on the first one. I was busy being in love, dang it! or… wait… was I nursing a broken heart? I can’t remember. Regardless, I was not there,
Peggy says
I remember my dad telling me how in Germany they drink the beer warm. Blech. The only thing worse than beer for me would be warm beer. I’d surely be on the loser side.
And, speaking of singing (even though I’ve never been allowed in a choir or chorus), I will continue to belt out songs in my car, kitchen, shower, & at work because I have just learned that singing out loud is as good for you as yoga. Woo hoo!
Lloyd says
Warm isn’t quite the right way to describe it. It’s the temperature of something kept in a cool place, but not refrigerated. The phrase II’ve heard is, “kellerkalt” as cold as something that you keep in your cellar.
Also, it tastes better.
Peggy says
My dad would always put a beer on the counter for a good 15 minutes or so before he would drink it. I guess he was going for the cellar taste.
Peggy says
And he always said it tasted better too. I guess that’s why, on the rare occasion that I drink a beer, it has to be ICE cold. Must kill some of that beer flavor.
Brad says
I was in the other choir. On our choir trips, we went to Iowa. The potato salad is pretty good there.
Peggy says
What’s the “other” choir? That sounds like something they would stick me in. But I know your vocals are good.
Lloyd says
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Kristi says
Look at those glasses from 23 years ago. Yes, and the other glasses, too.
Gretchen says
I was admiring the hair….those bangs!
