Well, it’s over. It went as well as could be expected – a couple of little hiccups but nothing that was major enough to cause her to run from the building screaming for the authorities. In a short three months we’ll know the answer.
Kristi, you mentioned my file box that was all color coordinated. Well, here’s the kicker: When the assessor comes, she needs to watch 50% of each group that you have. We have one toddler room, so they are always observed and assessed, but we have two preschool rooms, so only one will be under the microscope. The 3’s teacher and I always look at each other and say, “One of us has done all this work for nothing”. Well, guess what? In the time that the academy has moved to this particular format, we have had three visits, and not once has my room been observed. I could just fill my files with blank paper! Hmmmmm….. maybe for next time……
Ok, since everyone is tired of my going on about this, let me share a story from a couple of weeks ago that made Mrs. Sommerer’s face stay neutral, while Lauren laughed inside.
At the lunch table:
Ella: I know karate.
Grace: Kayla knows karate, too. I wish somebody would teach me karate.
Tyler: It’s easy – it’s just like pretending you’re kicking a ball, only you kick a person instead.
Happy Saturday, everyone!
