I don’t know if I ever wrote about the little pot I sent to Brad when he was in Hawaii.
Long ago when Lloyd and I would Priceline hotels on a regular basis just to stay somewhere overnight for fun, they would often have gorgeous little kitchenettes with granite countertops and these great little cooking sets. This pot was the best! It has a pouring spout, measuring marks inside, a clear lid, and two different sizes of strainers. Is there anything cooler??? I think not! You can make soup, noodles…. well, anything that can be cooked in a pot, this one can do it with style.
So when Brad moved to an apartment that was bare, I knew that this was the opportunity to buy one of these pots! Even if I never got the chance to use it myself, at least I would be able to share it’s awesomeness with another human being, and my life would have purpose.
Brad, knowing my deep love of gadgets, brought it back to me when he came to Seward.
Unopened.
Still in the protective plastic bag.
Hmmmmmph.
It turns out that my very favorite thing to make with this is coffee. It eliminates all extra nonsense: Fill it with some water, dump in some grounds, put it on to boil. Take it off the burner to let the grounds settle, and then pour. Most of the grounds stay in the pot, and I don’t mind a couple of grounds in my cup at all. Life is easy when your standards are low – that’s my motto.
Thank you, Brad. 🙂

I would have used that pot if I knew I could have made coffee in it. I didn’t have a coffee maker in my apartment in Maui.

That is a cool little pot! I like that it’s tall instead of short. If I had one, I’d use it as a gravy boat. I love gravy! You could make the gravy & serve it right in the same pot. Mmmm….mashed potatoes with gravy!
