‘Editor”s note: I have been writing posts on the iPad. It’s stupid autocorrect, combined with my lack of re-reading, usually do me in and make my writing look extra-stupid. Now the crazy update makes it nearly impossible to go back and fix any goofs that I do see. That happened last night and I thought, “I’ll just fix in on the computer in the morning.” So, sorry for all the terrible typos and grammar errors you see if you read these before I wake up. ‘Editor’ out.

I needed to go to our local lumberyard to buy a board for the float. (The school age children are helping and doing a pretty great job.)
Helen was there! She is something of a local legend in the very small, buying-lumber-in-Seward community. Helen has worked there for as long as I can remember, but it’s been so long since I’ve been there, it was fantastic basking in her presence.
Helen is perhaps five foot tall, maybe in her sixties now, but her standout feature is that she keeps three or four Bic pens in her curly hair. She just sticks them up there and there they are! I love her crazy fashion sense and amazing practical hairdo. She never needs to search for a writing utensil!

I wonder if that storage method could be used for other items as well. Would cash stay in curly hair? That would be handy.
Lauren says
Lloyd got a pen to stay in his beard. He would not attempt any more.
Peggy says
I wonder if Helen spends alot of time during her days wondering where the heck she placed her pens.
Beth says
I love Helen.
Deborah says
She is absolutely fabulous. She makes me smile.
