My Secret embarrassment

November 1, 2013

So, I have a morning routine that is pretty much set in stone: get up at the fourth alarm, stumble past cats, take shower, lotion/oil, deodorant, clothes, breakfast/internet, dry hair, leave.

There have been a couple of times in the past two or three weeks where I have sniffed an unpleasant smell at work and realized, “Egads! That’s ME.” I chalked it up to forgetting the deodorant. Fortunately I have a back-up can of spray stuff at work to fix such troubles.

However, this morning as I was getting ready I distinctly remembered putting it on, but later in the afternoon when I started to work on the float with the kids, I was mortified at the gamey stench rising from my armpits. What the what??? I snuck into the bathroom and fixed it, then shared with a co-worker that I think the new scent of Secret that I bought – ‘Fresh’ – doesn’t work, and she said she is having a very similar problem!

So super-thrifty me actually threw out the rest of the stick and broke open the old standby scent. Here’s hoping.

UPDATE: I am dying of laughter. As I’m loading the photo I realize that it’s a completely different brand. No wonder!

I have brands that work and brands that don’t too. What’s really frustrating is when you’ve been using the same brand for a long time, and it suddenly stops working.

Great title, by the way 🙂

I just read an article somewhere that said your body can become immune to the deodorant, so after a time, you need to change brands.

    I’ll trade armpits with you.
