Still working on the star for the float. Friday evening was spent poking the rest of the holes and today was spent adding a lamp kit to the lead pipe that will go on top of the stable.
There has been a lot of experimenting and thinking and thinking and thinking. I’m trying to do things right the first time and not spend money twice. The light that came with the star is a little 25-watt appliance bulb that just makes it glow. I’m trying to fit a 75 or even 100 watt CFL in there, but those still get hot. I hacked a holder that will make sure the star doesn’t touch the bulb. I’ve been testing it on a regular lamp base in the guest room. Here’s hoping.
I bent the wires while watching part of The A-Team movie. It was motivating.
Now if I could just get those wise men out of my yard….

I love that. Once this is all over, you should use it as a regular light in your house.

I can’t wait to see this in the parade!
Beth says
When’s the parade?
Lauren says
November 30th. I think it starts at 5:30.

An LED bulb would not get hot. 🙂
The star looks lovely.
Lauren says
Quiana! Hi! 🙂
I wondered about an LED, but they are so crazy expensive. I’m already in the hole for this thing a fair amount of cash so I’ll have to think about it…..
